Youth and Families Worker (Maternity cover)


Holmer Green Baptist Church. Part time: 24 hours a week (annualised hours).

Pay negotiable dependent on experience.


We are looking for maternity cover for the position of Youth and Families Worker from September 2018.


The role includes:

  • Organising Messy Church once a month (Sunday afternoons).

  • Leading assemblies and school clubs at local schools.

  • Running a weekly Youth Club for children in school years 6-9 (Term time).

  • Managing the Sunday School rota and leading the majority share of Sunday School sessions.

  • Leading (alongside the Pastor) Christmas Unwrapped, Easter Cracked and It’s Your Move presentations with year 6 pupils.

  • Communicating youth and family events with the community.



  • Annualised hours mean that aside from pre-booked events your work hours will be flexible; there is the option to take full school holidays.

  • Accommodation can be provided.

  • Learning and development: You won’t be alone! You will be supported by a team of dedicated church members who are keen to see you grow and develop in your role and will ensure you have all the training you need to feel best equipped.



  • Previous experience would be preferable although we will offer full support to the right person.

  • DBS check in advance of appointment is required.

  • Ability to drive and own transport would be desirable but not essential.
