Even Jesus needed a small group!
Life is not meant to be lived alone. In fact, God hates loneliness. You were created to experience life with other people, and that’s why at HGBC, we encourage you to meet in a Life Group.
A Life Group is a small group of people who gather normally every other week.
Groups come in all shapes and sizes — no matter where you are in life, there’s a group for you.
In a group you’ll share life, laugh and cry together, study the Bible, and pray together. It's a place where you will make deep friends and grow as a person.
If you are interested in joining a life group please talk to one of the leaders or our Pastor Anthony. We have 3 Life Groups at present.
Life Group FAQs
"Why should I be in a Life Group?" Let's face it - life is tough and challenging - full of decisions we have to make, obstacles we have to face, and all kinds of other stuff. The best thing you can do is be in a Life Group to help you establish Christ-centred friendships and learn more about the Bible and grow closer to God.
"Who should be in a Life Group?" Everybody! The church is not a place you go to. It’s people. By taking part in a Life Group, you connect with the church – other people!
"Where do Life Groups meet?" Life Groups meet in homes and the church at different times of the day. We try to make it as accessible as possible to get started whenever you’re ready!
"What do Life Groups do?" Groups spend time talking and looking at the Bible and what it has to say about relevant life issues and who God is. Groups also find ways to serve the people around them. AND of course having fun!
"When do Life Groups meet?" Groups meet on 1st and 3rd Tuesday evenings of the month at 8.00 pm in the church building, and on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 2:30pm in the church building, starting on 14 April. There is also a Wednesday evening group that meets on Zoom at 8.00pm every other week.
