“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and all your strength.”
I have been attending HGBC ‘forever’ – my parents and grandparents were very involved in this Church and it has has always been an important part of my life. I have been a Deacon for 9 years and whilst I took an active part in running the church as Secretary an increasingly important role now is “Pastoral Support”. This involves visiting, caring, chatting, and praying with our Church family. This gives us an opportunity to keep in contact with everyone and ensure they have someone to call upon.
I am married to Roy, who is also a member, and who helps with many things but especially during my time as Church Secretary with some of my Church administration and communications work – we make a great partnership. He took over being Church Secretary from me at the March 2017 AGM.
We have 4 grandchildren with whom we are very close. Our family is a very important part of our lives.
I enjoy cake making/decorating, gardening, walking, badminton, keeping in contact with friends and I help in our local charity shop. Lighthouse Great Missenden is another charity that we and our church supports. I take an active part in helping with this annual Christian holiday week for children.
My favourite Bible verse is “This is the day that the Lord has made : Let us rejoice and be glad in it” (Psalm 118:24), one of my favourite hymns is “Jesus be the centre”.
