“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
Prior to 2008, my church attendance could be counted on one hand, my knowledge of the Bible was very limited and I only prayed infrequently.
God came into my life around that time and since then I started to develop an awareness of God and an interest in reading Scriptures and I knew I wanted to get baptised. It was important for me to find the right church to join and I started to pray frequently. I now realise God has been with me throughout my entire life.
My prayers were answered when I started to attend Holmer Green Baptist Church in August 2014. I was made to feel very welcome and immediately knew this was the Church I wanted to belong to. I was baptised in October 2014. My wife, Carol, also started to attend Church with me and was herself subsequently baptised in November 2015. We have a grown up son.
By taking on the role of Deacon I feel I am giving back to God for all the blessings he has bestowed on me throughout my life.
My two favourite Bible verses and which I find most comforting are:
Hebrews 4:16 “Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (and) 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you”.
I have been recently appointed as the Church's Safeguarding Trustee.
