Holmer Green Baptist Church

Everyone's Welcome

Hello and welcome to Holmer Green Baptist Church! Here at HGBC we believe that the Church is a place where everyone should feel welcome. We are a diverse family of people who meet together to worship God, encourage and help one another grow in faith and tell others about the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Our Sunday morning meetings are relaxed, informal and relevant to modern life. We expect the Holy Spirit to be always present with us and to speak to us in a relevant, life shaping way.

Our time together usually starts with a hymn, then a time of contemporary praise and worship based on Biblical truth, a time for open prayer and a talk applying the truth of the Bible to life. We like to make visitors feel welcome and comfortable, and we invite them to stay at the end of the meeting for tea, coffee and chat.

Each week we have special activities organised for children -- creche and Sunday Club for under-16s.

So please come and join us on a Sunday morning or throughout the week for one of our many groups or activities. There is something for everyone, from toddlers to the elderly.

We meet every Sunday at 10.45 am until 12.00 pm approx.

There is Sunday Club for under-16s and a crèche.

Church services and activities: practical advice

Faith groups have now been advised by the Government to avoid meeting physically to help halt the spread of the Coronavirus. This applies not only to Sunday services but all associated gatherings throughout the week, such as house groups, and Baptists Together is urging churches to follow Government advice

  • Prayer as individuals and as a fellowship will continue to be our primary focus at this time, although we may have to develop novel ways of doing this. More information to follow.

  • Sunday morning services and our monthly evening Encounter service are cancelled until further notice.

We are looking urgently to do something on line for those with computers, tablets and smartphones.

  • Life Groups are also suspended.

  • The AGM / church meeting is moved provisionally to the 17th June.

  • Youth clubs are cancelled until further notice.

  • All external bookings up to the end of June will be cancelled.

  • No further external bookings will be taken until the situation has settled down.

  • Anthony our Pastor will now be working predominantly from home. Pastoral visits will only be for exceptional / emergency reasons. (We are developing alternative methods to care for everyone).
