"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
After 28 years in corporate life, latterly as General Manager of a number of bread factories, I felt God calling me to move in a different direction so I took early retirement. It was then that God led me and my wife Adele to Holmer Green Baptist Church to help whilst they were without a pastor. We felt at home very quickly and we have become more involved whilst being here and now I serve as Pastor from 10th March 2014.
As far as I can remember I have always believed in God and trusted Jesus, having been brought up in a Christian home. However in 1975 I became particularly aware of God's presence and was baptised at Gold Hill Baptist Church on Easter Sunday that year. When we married we moved to Slough Baptist Church where I served for a number of years as a Deacon and had responsibility for the youth and Sunday school.
Following that I became co-leader of a church plant in Stoke Poges where I served for 8 years. The Church grew considerably and we were able to appoint a full time minister. As my sons, by this time, were at school in High Wycombe we moved house and started worshipping at Holy Trinity in Hazlemere. After a number of years we made the move to Holmer Green Baptist Church. In 2015 I graduated from Spurgeon's College.
We have 3 grown up boys and all are married. We also have four beautiful grandchildren! We enjoy spending time in our caravan in Cornwall and love to escape there whenever we can. It also enables us to take long walks along the cliff paths. I serve as a Community First Responder for the Ambulance Service in any spare time.
