If you would like someone to pray with you after the service, please either ask someone you know and trust or move to a seat on the front row where Mike or a nominated person will be available. Do not feel too embarrassed to do this. We believe in prayer. What you might need to know If you are new to this church you may be interested to know :- There is a loop system for those who are hard of hearing, Crèche is provided for babies/toddlers in the hall, and a Sunday Club group is available for pre-schoolers to age 11 in the hall from approx 11am. Please stay after the service to have a coffee/tea and biscuits, these are available in the hall. Midweek Groups – Ron and Mary’s Wednesday group meet again on the 18th at their house. The other Wednesday evening group starts this week at Roy and Val’s house as does the Thursday which meets at the manse. If you would like to join one of these groups, you would be very welcome Please see a letter on the noticeboard from Lighthouse/Rotary to thank our church for supporting the shoe boxes again over 1600 boxes were sent to Eastern Europe this year. Thank you to all who bought a lighthouse quiz sheet we sold 155 this year which is excellent. Don't forget to send it in before the closing date of 15 January maybe our church will have the winning answers this year. Don’t Forget the first Thursday in each month the church is open for prayer and reflection. We will now be holding a evening of prayer and praise on the evening before – so the next one is Wednesday 1st February and will start at 8pm, please join us when you can. “The Light of God’s Presence” – January 11th – 14th 2012 Restore Hope Latimer A time to seek God’s spiritual direction for the year – there is something for everyone, so please do join the RHL team. Wednesday – Children’s Praise events – (Dairy); “Walk the Land” – (Barn) *Thursday – Quiet Day (£20 inc. lunch and drinks) *Friday 7.30 pm – Saturday 9.30 am – 3.30 pm - Mini Conference in the style of Lee Abbey (£30 inc. lunch and drinks). *please book tickets in advance. 01494 764342 Saturday – Evening of Celebration! All welcome 6.30pm- drinks party, 7.30 pm – Worship Service Details on the website Preaching topics – please take a copy of the blue E100 leaflet which can be in the foyer. This highlights 100 Bible passages which you can read. We will be using this leaflet to form the basis of our Sunday morning teaching program and our mid-week home groups as well. Please take a copy and use it even if you can’t make a home group. It will also help you to keep up with what is happening on Sunday mornings if you miss a few weeks. Bereavements : Some might remember Paul Sargent, who used to be a member of HGBC. We heard over Christmas that he died in February of last year after suffering from cancer. We also heard that Linda Lightbody who moved from the village in March 2009 died peacefully on December 17th 2011. Her funeral was last Friday (6th January). FLOWER ROTA.The flower rota for 2012 is on the notice board in the entrance hall. Please can you enter your name by a date that is special to you. If you are able to provide and arrange the flowers that would be helpful, if not please see Mary Lacey. Donations toward the cost of flowers would also be gratefully received. TOAST - Saturday 28th Jan 2012 with Danelle Nightingale 9.00 am at Princes Risborough. Toast and a 9.30 am start "How to share your faith with your children / family". Danelle is a very gifted speaker and has just completed her Masters at London School of Theology where her dissertation was on this subject.
